He Came To Me

The stars are shining,
In the night.
The Lord is with me,
I'm in flight.

"Please forgive me?"
I asked of him.
Then, just then.
The stars went dim.

I saw a face,
Upon the moon.
And the stars all hummed,
A familiar tune.

Then he smiled such a precious smile,
And winked his perfect eye,
He ran his fingers through my hair,
And let out a tender sigh.

"My darling, my dear,
My daughter, my love.
Don't worry about a thing.
You have a friend above!"

He caught my tear,
And kissed my cheek.
I had got the answer,
I set out to seek.

Although I may not like everything I hear,
Saying it's too loud,
Or annoying,
I thank you Lord that I can hear it,
For there are many who are deaf.

Although I may not like everything I see,
Saying it's ugly,
Or gross,
I thank you Lord that I can see it,
For there are many who are blind.

Although I may complain about the food,
Saying it's too sour
Or sweet,
I thank you Lord that it is there,
For there are many who are starving.

Although I may complain about getting off the couch,
Saying that I'm tired,
Or lazy,
I thank you Lord that I am mobile,
For there are many who are not.
