A Darkened Prison

A dark cloud settles,
Above my hidden thoughts,
Taunting my emotions,
To obey its every word.
The darkness creeps in on me,
Imprisonating my shining stars,
Trapping me in its clutches,
I want to walk no more.
The blackness is my asylum,
A special ward just for me.
No life, no love, no leading light,
Only air to fill my lungs.
Rotting here I start to think,
Why do I let it win?
What more can I do,
But sit here and stare?
A dark cloud settles,
Imprisonating my shining stars,
Taunting my emotions,
I want to walk no more.
